SHIPPING - FREIGHT POLICIES

FREE Shipping of all orders over $200.00 AUD conditions apply

CONDITIONS:
  • Free shipping excludes international orders and any bulky / heavy / Dangerous Goods items
  • Bulky or heavy items carry freight costs based upon (postcode + cube weight) additional charges may apply [if so, $charge will be added to your invoice once your order has been lodged in our system and reviewed]
  • Please note this applies to ALL orders with tyres that are to be posted
  • Dangerous Goods items - may incur additional freight charges due to handling fee charged by carriers and significant paperwork required to accompany the order
  • Orders with "Free" Shipping do not include postage insurance
  • Should you put instructions to allow your order/parcel to be left 'unattended' [A.T.L] authority to Leave, this greatly diminishes your claims for 'lost/stolen' parcels
  • You are agreeing to these shipping terms and conditions when you complete your order
     
WHAT IS POSTAGE INSURANCE & DO I NEED IT?

When choosing your Shipping Method at Checkout, you will have serveral options, one of purchasing Postage Insurance, Postage Insurance ensures that should one of our carrier companies (Australia Post / Startrack / Couriers Please / Sendle / Aramex) deem your parcel to be 'Lost In Transit', we can replace the item for you at no additional cost to you (conditions apply see below). after investigation has been completed. We recommend you select this service for expensive items

  • Orders with paid Insurance can not be left 'unattended' or 'safe place' - this voids the claim
  • "Free" shipping excludes international orders and orders that contain any bulky or heavy items
  • Shark Leathers will not accept responsibility for any lost, damaged, delayed or stolen goods in transit

DANGEROUS GOODS

Products that are classed as DG and by Carriers as 'dangerous goods' can not be air freighted, and there are several catergories that are also limited to volume permitted and specific packaging requirements. *additional freight charges may apply 

There are 9 main classes of dangerous goods. Dangerous goods can present 1 or more of the hazards represented by Class 1 to 9 with some classes split into divisions.Hazard labels for dangerous goods

Under regulations, labels must be clearly visible on the outside of the package and must stay on the package while in transit.

You can often find labels printed on most inner packages such as:

  • aerosol cans
  • bottles of bleach
  • containers of thinners

Class 2 Gases

4 signs. First sign is red with a black flame. Second sign is green with a white gas cylinder. Third sign is green with a black gas cylinder. Fourth sign is white with black skull and bones.

Class 2 gases

This includes aerosols. Class 2 has 3 divisions:

  • Division 2.1 - flammable gases such as:
    • butane
    • propane
  • Division 2.2 - non-flammable, non-toxic gases such as:
    • oxygen
    • liquid nitrogen
    • compressed air

“combustible liquids”, designated C1 (e.g. diesel and heating oil) and C2 (e.g. engine oil, lubricating oil)

Class 3 Flammable liquids

Class 3 flammable liquids

This includes liquids with a boiling point of 35⁰ C or less, or a flash point of 60⁰ C or less such as:

  • petrol
  • alcohol
  • hand sanitiser
  • paints.
  • Class 4 Flammable solids

    3 signs with the number 4 at the bottom. First sign is red with black vertical strips and a black flame. Second sign is red and white with a black flame, bottom half is red and the top half is white. Third sign is blue with a black flame.

    Class 4 flammable solids

    These are substances that can spontaneously combust and substances, that when they come into contact with water or emit flammable gases. Class 4 has 3 divisions:

  • Class 8 Corrosives

    A black and white sign with the number 8. It shows an image of two test tubes. The test tube on the left is spilling a chemical onto a metal tube and burning a hole. The test tube on the right is spilling a chemical onto skin causing a burn.

    Class 8 corrosives

    These substances can cause irreversible damage if they come into contact with skin and could destroy other freight, or materially damage containers or aircraft. This includes:

  • acids
  • corrosive cleaners
  • battery fluid
  • formaldehyde
  • hydrofluoric acid.
  • Class 9 Miscellaneous

    Sign shows a diamond shaped image with the bottom half showing different types of batteries. One battery has flames coming out of it. The top of the image shows black and white stripes. A second sign is the same but has no image of the batteries.

    Class 9 miscellaneous

    These are substances and articles which, during air transport, present a danger not covered by other classes. There are 2 types of handling labels – 1 for lithium battery shipments, and another for all other miscellaneous dangerous goods. This class includes:

  • lithium batteries
  • battery powered vehicles
  • battery powered equipment
  • environmentally hazardous substances

 

INTERNATIONAL TAX - DUTY - PROHIBITED ITEMS

Orders placed by customers outside Australia may be subject to the relevant taxes and duties applicable to the jurisdiction of the individual country from which the order was placed.

Although it doesn't happen often, should Customs or associated Government bodies require additional payment to release goods, all payments will be worn solely by the customer and any additional costs associated with the importation of the goods of sale. In some instances Your item maybe listed as 'prohibited' If Your parcel/order/item is 'returned to sender' and or destroyed, we do not accept any cost or liability for this. We strongly recommend you know Your own countries restrictions
